The word Londolozi comes from a Zulu word and means ‘Protector Of All Living Things’.  Our name reflects the ambitious conservation ethic in our relationship with the natural world. The reserve has been lauded internationally for its foresight and progressive land and wildlife management practices, as well as its productive community involvement. This philosophy realizes that Londolozi is a platform for advocacy of the restoration movement and the new consciousness. It is a Futuristic African Village that should inspire a desire in all to live in deeper connection with each other and the natural world.

Our emphasis on conservation and a village ethos stands alongside a commitment to luxurious accommodation, fine cuisine and exceptional service. In 1993, Londolozi became the first game reserve in the world to be accorded Relais & Châteaux status.

Londolozi is situated on the banks of the Sand River, in the heart of the Sabi Sand Game Reserve within the Greater Kruger National Park. Going on safari at Londolozi allows you to have an exclusive and luxurious experience of the area.

As a luxury private game reserve, Londolozi is world-renowned. Famous for its Londolozi Feeling, although hard to describe, it could be translated to a combination of experiential luxury surrounded by the spectacular beauty of the Sabi Sand Game Reserve, all the while feeling completely at home within this wilderness.

We believe in safari as a journey that immerses the senses and awakens the spirit. To have an encounter with wild animals in the African bush is to discover an essential truth about ourselves and our world. For all of us who live the Londolozi feeling, our deepest wish is to give you the chance to experience this for yourself.

A much-loved experience is the opportunity to see the legendary Leopards of Londolozi. Bathe in the Private Granite Suites as a herd of elephants walk by, explore a re-imagined education model for Africa, or have a private picnic in the tree tops overlooking the Sand River – this could be your ultimate luxury safari experience.

When you visit Londolozi, you are doing far more than immersing yourself in a thrilling wildlife experience; you are helping with the development and socio-economic wellbeing of a whole human ecosystem. Community upliftment, rural education, healthcare, the creation of protected areas in which rhinos and other iconic species can roam freely… these are just a few of the ways in which your safari is having a positive impact on the reserve and its surrounding areas. Your safari means the power to improve the lives of both people and wildlife. Your safari means the power to make change.
