Deep in the northern reaches of Mozambique, the Quirimbas Archipelago is one of the world’s most remote beach destinations. It’s really off the beaten track and that is precisely why we at Londolozi love it – a barefoot paradise where the beaches are completely unspoilt and the waters are warm and clear. Pemba itself is a historic town in a scenic setting – nicknamed Mozambique’s papaya paradise. It’s a little run down, but is the gateway to the Islands.
The archipelago contains a collection of over 30 little islands off the coast of Pemba. These islands stretch for over 250km from Ilha Tecomaji in the north to Ilha Mefunvo in the south.
And there’s an Island lodge to suit everyone, whether for romantic getaways or family holidays. A few islands can be reached by boat, but in general you will take a short flight from Pemba to the individual islands.
We’ve featured a limited selection of destinations in our Tours, but we can help you plan a holiday to any southern or eastern African destination, tailored to your budget, style and needs.
