Your Adventure Begins...
Day 1-5Cape Town, The Silo
A sanctuary in the city, celebrating the exquisite spirit of South Africa's Mother City.
Suspended between mountain and ocean, your urban sanctuary awaits. Through pillowed-glass windows, Table Mountain's ancient silhouette merges with harbour lights dancing on the water below. Here, contemporary African art whispers stories in every corridor while the city's pulse beats through your veins.
Morning coffee overlooking the V&A Waterfront becomes a ritual of anticipation. Each sunset transforms the Mother City into liquid gold, viewed from your perch above Africa's greatest art collection. Four nights to absorb Cape Town's vibrant soul – where culture, cuisine and breathtaking beauty converge in one transformative urban adventure.
Day 5-8Kruger Park, Londolozi Private Granite Suites
Moving between the "big city" and the bush is rather a lot more streamlined than you might imagine. A direct regional flight up to Kruger and a small charter flight thereafter to the reserves own private landing strip and suddenly you are in a whole new world. The splendour that awaits you here for the next 3 nights can only truly be explained, by its first hand experience thereof. The reserve, its people and camps are that special. Your safari schedule means early mornings and late afternoons are spent enjoying game drives in search of the Big 5 (and more). And for the adventurous you could enjoy bush walks too over and above. Down time (between endless delicious meals and snacks) makes way for books, birds, afternoon siestas and perhaps a well-deserved treatment or calming massage in the serene Healing House on premises.
Day 8-11Kalahari, Tswalu Motse Lodge
Another very smooth and easy transition, in the form of 2 light flights, deliver you from Londolozi to the vast expanse of Tswalu Kalahari. Red soil, black maned lions, orange sunsets and never-ending blue skies can be expected here. The reserve is home to some elusive species not typically seen in the Kruger which makes the two reserves so brilliant in their combination. Meerkats, Pangolin, Aardwolf all lessor known creatures one can try and find here over and above the other primary mammals of course. Motse is a calming and cool respite when not out on drive, or on foot, or on horseback and the most sublime base for your 3 night stay here.
You've reached the end of your adventure
FAQ
This is a tricky question to answer as the exact answer would be totally dependent on your nationality as per your passport that you will be travelling with.
The golden rule, best advice and one that would suit travel anywhere in the world, would be to contact the embassy of the country you are looking to travel to, for their most up to date requirements and stipulations for entry. This should be done with enough lead time, prior to said trip, so as to ensure one can get their “ducks in a row” without any urgency or surprises.
South Africa is the country you will be entering and exiting on this trip. Most passport holders are able to enter South Africa for a holiday like this without a visa.
Standard requirements for travel within Africa is to please ensure that your passports are valid for at least 6 months after you travel dates & you need at least 2 blank VISA pages in consecutive order, namely one blank on the left and one blank on the right when open like a book for each country you are visiting!
Dec – March (if the Cape is your priority)
But of course – the best of both worlds for the 2 diverse destinations would be April/May as you are within the cusp of our seasons (ie our Autumn (Fall)) and as such moderacy throughout in terms of weather and experiences on the ground.
One thing here to keep in mind is that since the trip is heavily safari-focussed, you may want to err closer to the “best time for safari” as that is where the bulk of your time will be spent.
Many would argue though, that since our seasons are not as extreme as those in the Northern Hemsiphere, we are essentially a year-round destination and the action never stops, regardless of when you may be keen to travel.
You will need ZAR (South African Rands) here in South Africa
There are bureau de changes at the Cape Town Airport, as well as throughout the city if you need to change some of your home currency into ZAR here at the start of the trip.
To note though, one can also use one’s credit card for any extras at the Cape Town hotels and restaurants, Londolozi and Tswalu that would cover extras like curios, gratuities, spa treatments, etc.
We will get in touch with you to confirm everything. If you have any other questions please don't hesitate to get in touch.
